Genuine 3Com SFP transceivers are industry-standard, hot-swappable link adapters that plug into SFP mini-GBIC module slots to connect to Gigabit or Fast Ethernet fiber- or copper-based cabling.
The 3Com 100BASE-BX10-D SFP transceiver enables one Fast Ethernet 100BASE-BX connection for organizations with BX fiber requirements. In this mode, uplink wavelength is different than downlink wavelength. The BX10-D transceiver is meant to be paired with the BX10-U at the opposite end of the fiber connection. BX10-U transmits at 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm. BX10-D transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm.
