It features a 1100KB per second transfer rate, a high-performance 1MB buffer, and a 30 second seek time. It is compatible with most popular operating systems. Scorpion 4 uses the Helical Scan recording method on 90 meter tapes. Helical Scan heads record data at an angle, rather than in a straight line which takes advantage the entire width of the tape.
