Seagate’s Hornet 20, an internal Travan TR-5 tape drive, provides a cost-effective, entry-level storage system for desktop and laptop applications, servers and high-end workstations. The Hornet 20 allows you to backup up to 20GB of data on a single cartridge, using software data compression. It has an ATAPI interface and features a compressed backup rate of 120MB per minute. The Hornet optimizes its transfer rate using the unique FastSense feature, delivering transfer rates up to 1000KB per second. The Hornet 20 reads and writes to Travan TR-5 media and is backwards read compatible with TR-4 and QIC-3095 media. It is compatible with Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Netware, SCO UNIX, Linux, Macintosh, and OS/2 environments. It can be mounted in a 5.25-inch half height bay with the included rail kit or in a 3.5-inch low profile bay without the kit.
