This 50GB tape cartridge is designed for use with Seagate’s 8mm AIT tape drives. It features a 25GB native capacity and 50GB compressed capacity. This AIT tape incorporates Memory in Cassette (MIC) technology, which means it has a built-in memory chip containing the tape’s log file. Having this information stored in a memory chip enables you to access the files you need faster by advancing directly to the correct position on the tape.
