The PathBuilder S500 switches provide one scalable, cost-effective solution for building high ROI access infrastructure. 3Com tunnel switching technology lets you extend the VPN beyond the firewall into different LAN domains.

The PathBuilder S580 switch features tunnel termination, LAN-to-LAN and LAN-to-WAN routing and tunnel switching, comprehensive, flexible WAN services platform, with eight FlexWAN ports (support leased dial, PPP, Frame Relay, X.25, and SMDS at full duplex T1/E1 speeds or 6 Mbps with 8 Mbps aggregate per Quad WAN card). Requires external DSU/CSU. Available FlexWAN cables support most electrical interfaces (RS-449, RS-232, V.35, EIA 530, X.21, and DTE and DCE connections).
